Halloween Cupcakes for Kids

When it comes to cupcakes, most kids don’t even touch the cake–it’s all about the icing. Why not give them something else to love? Since marshmallows are a favorite amongst almost every kid, these easy-to-make skulls are the perfect way to decorate Halloween cupcakes for kids.

Directions:

Make cake mix (or your own recipe) cupcakes and top with store-bought icing (or your favorite recipe). To turn your marshmallows into skulls, grab a pair of scissors. Cut a third of the curved side of the marshmallow off in order to create a flat surface for the marshmallow to stick onto cupcake. Then, trim an angular sliver from the two bottom sides to form a tapered chin. (TIP: Do not cut it to a point.) Cut a slit above the chin for a mouth.

Using a toothpick, poke two eye holes at the top of marshmallow and one in the center for a nose. Fill holes with sprinkles and set on top of cupcake.

Healthy Taste-Good Tip: Substitute a half a banana for one of the eggs in a box recipe for a homemade taste with a little added produce.
